Scrabble-Game On!

I’m not a gamer in the traditional sense of having a controller in my hand and watching a game playout on a television screen, but almost every day in my home, at any given hour you will find my husband and I, eye to eye, a Scrabble Board between us. This article by Shellie Karabell puts into words what I have always known. Playing Scrabble, in a strategic manner, makes me a better business person, problem solver and leader. Revitalization

Revitalize. Revitalization. Redevelopment. In our crazy world of build-build-build, we often overlook redevelopment as one of the most important things we can do as a community to increase our property values, breathe life into new and existing small businesses and develop more profound community pride. Redevelopment by its own definition is the action of revitalizing tired or out of date shopping centers, homes, and green spaces. Development

Development. Roads, Buildings, People. What does development mean to you? Webster’s says development is the act, process, or result of developing. It offers synonyms such as evolution, expansion, growth and progress. The City Council of Lakeway is always under development. It never has an endpoint, it is constantly in a state of evolution. Term limits as documented in the City Charter, limit service to 2 terms as a councilmember and 2 terms as a mayor. These term limits are in place to guarantee the citizens of Lakeway that their government is always progressing. Fresh ideas, new view-points, and new processes are only a few things that term limits, by nature of what they are, bring to the table.

Hello Monday

Monday. It gets a bad rap. I love Monday. It is the reset button of each of week. It holds promise and it is a great day to refine and reposition your goals. This is my first Monday as a candidate for the position of City Councilmember for the City of Lakeway. How exciting is that? Civil engagement is the cornerstone of volunteerism. It can be political or non-political. What matters is that you channel your knowledge, skills, values and motivation to promote the quality of life in your community.
